In cold months, these dwellings must be able to reach a temperature of 21\u00b0C at minimum, and vacant dwellings or spaces unsuitable for living must be kept at 15\u00b0C minimum.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Windows and openings must have storm sashes unless double-glazed, between October 30th and April 30th.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Air conditioning unit installation<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">You do not need to hold a permit to install an AC unit, but following urban planning bylaws is mandatory. You cannot install an AC unit in your front yard, and you must install the unit 2 meters or more from the rear property line and 1 meter from the side property line.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The noise from your AC unit also cannot be greater than 50 decibels at any property line. The exterior of your unit also cannot be longer than 0.8m, higher than 1m, and wider than 0.4m.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Roof equipment<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Systems occupying the roof can not exceed 10% of the roof area, and cannot be greater than 4 meters in height. Mechanical equipment, appendages, and other parts installed on the roof must also have camouflage or a screen with a minimum opacity of 75%\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Landscaping and concealment<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Any systems installed permanently in the side or front yard must be concealed by opaque landscaping. The system must not be visible from the street and must maintain the aesthetic of your neighborhood and property.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Tanks and similar equipment<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Canisters, tanks, and similar equipment are only permitted in the rear and side yards.
